We are the Free Lance Star's (Fredericksburg's local newspaper) "Simply The Best 2002 Contest" winner. Roxbury Farm and Garden Center was awarded "First Place for Best Garden Shop" in Fredericksburg. This honor is most significant because it is the voice of the people. Listed below are some of the quotes from readers:
"Roxbury owner (actually general manager) Andy Lynn, has been known to dispense lawn and garden advise while on line at "Carl's Ice Cream Shop". Thanks Andy. The weeds are gone now. It's just one of the many examples we could mention of the store's dedication to customer service.
A clerk recently dropped what she was doing and insisted on walking us across the garden shop to make sure we got the right mulch for our yard.
Nearly anyone you stop there can answer whatever question you might have, or they'll take you over to someone who can. How many stores can you say that about?
And best of all, they'll let you back your car up to their storage barn and load your lime, fertilizer or stone into the back of your car.
The only qualms we have with Roxbury are its limited parking and the times we stopped by on Sunday, forgetting that the store is open only six days a week. We're willing to overlook those the next time we have a gardening need."
